After months of hard work and hundreds of amazing entries, the results of the 2015 Hair Awards are almost here!
May 7th. That’s the big date for your diaries. Not only is that when our next issue go on sale, but it’s also when we reveal the winners of the 2015 Hair Awards. We couldn’t be more excited here at Hair HQ! This has been my first Hair Awards with the team, so this has an amazing few months. I’ve never seen so many hair products in one building! Some brands were instantly recognisable, while other new faces came to challenge the big names… and gave it a damn good go!
The results are only three weeks away, and the anticipation is building. We have had so many people asking us to reveal the winners early, and the temptation has been there, but the results are a tightly-kept secret until the big day. If you think that’s annoying, imagine being us, knowing someone has won an award and not being allowed to tell them. It’s torture!
I’ve been lucky enough to be involved at every stage. Except for the judging, of course. I’m happy to leave that to our industry experts and you, the reader testers. In fact, of all the incredible things I’ve seen in this year’s Hair Awards, my favourite part has been working with all the lovely reader testers. They were so brilliant, and just as excited as we were to try out some amazing Super 60 contenders. Seeing your comments afterwards was so nice, and a fantastic way to end a frenetic final few weeks of organised chaos.
So, in true awards ceremony tradition, I have an exhaustive list of people to thank. First of all, to the team here at Hair HQ for guiding me through my first ever Hair Awards. Second, to the long list of people who entered this year and gave us all some really tough decisions to make along the way. Third, to the industry judging panel for The Cut; using all their expertise to make some very tough calls. Finally, and crucially, to the readers. Everyone who tested, everyone who applied to test, and everyone reading this and thinking of applying next year. My advice: do it! Drop us a line and hopefully you can be a reader tester in 2016.
