Hair loss is such a huge concern nowadays with younger and younger women reporting problems with hair thinning or hair shedding. If you suffer, or have suffered from this devastating condition then you will know how difficult it is to know where to go to find help and support. GPs, our first port of call are often poorly informed as it is a complex area of specialism and hairdressers do not all have training in this area.
How comforting that a new event is planned to give the public reliable information about hair loss and where to get help from – be it medical, psychological or cosmetic. Also to enable hairdressers to become more informed about this challenging and upsetting condition and where to advise clients to seek support.
Held on Sunday 30 September at the Royal Society of Medicine, Wimpole Street, London W1, the Get Ahead of Hair Loss event is headed up by some of the leading names in the business and is the brainchild of Dr Sharon Wong Consultant Dermatologist with clinics in London.
Celebrity hairdressers with an interest in this subject will speaking at the event, among them Trevor Sorbie MBE founder of the My New Hair initiative, Errol Douglas MBE, Inanch Emir award-winning extensionist, Tony Maleedy hair specialist and cosmetic scientist, Glenn Lyons world-renowned trichologist and eminent hair transplant surgeon, Dr. Bessam Farjo.
The day will be hosted by fashion blogger Natalie Lee from @stylemesunday and TV presenter Cherry Healey plus Gold Olympian Joanna Rowsell Shand and vlogger Perry O’Shee will talk about their own experiences of hair loss.
This event is a must for anyone who is suffering from hair loss, hair thinning and/or shedding and would like to know more about the options available or hair professionals who have an interest in this area.
Tickets for this one-day event are very reasonably-priced at £79 and this includes a whole day programme, goody bag worth over £80 and free entry into the prize draw. To purchase visit http://www.getaheadofhairloss.com
